TEACHERS

Dean
Hi, I’m Dean. I’m a QTS and PGCE-qualified teacher with a BSc (Hons) in Biology. I trained and worked in schools across Salford and Bury before joining Bury Tuition Centre in 2022.  I came to teaching later in life, having previously worked in the chemical industry, which has given me a broad and well-rounded perspective on science. Alongside teaching, I still make time for other interests like music, films and a bit of sport.
I tutor Biology and Chemistry up to A-Level, as well as GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics across all major exam boards.
I believe education is about empowerment, helping students build the confidence they need to achieve their best, both in exams and beyond. I’m an easy-going tutor and try to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable, capable, and motivated. For me, learning should be about sparking interest and curiosity, not just ticking boxes.
Zahra
I am a Cambridge-educated English teacher with a passion for helping students grow in confidence and enjoyment of English, from primary through to GCSE. I specialise in English Language and Literature, with a particular focus on exam preparation, guiding students step-by-step to feel secure, capable, and ready to succeed.
Alongside my teaching, I work as a GCSE Senior Associate Examiner, which gives me a clear understanding of how exams are marked and how students can achieve their best possible results. I currently teach English at Holy Cross College in Bury, where I support students in reaching their full potential through a calm, structured, and encouraging approach.
I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every student feels understood, motivated, and able to thrive.
Aina
I’m a Maths teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and I have experience working as a private tutor, supporting students on a one-to-one basis.
I have a real passion for Maths and enjoy helping students break down topics so they become clearer and more manageable. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me is seeing that moment when everything starts to “click” and a student’s confidence begins to grow.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy Geometry, solving puzzles, and travelling.
Becky’s
Becky’s Profile: I am a Cambridge University Mathematics graduate and have been teaching mathematics at GCSE and A level for over 30 years. I love working with young people to build their confidence in this amazing subject. My central belief is that, by explaining ideas clearly and encouraging students to practise and work hard, everyone can improve their mathematical attainment.

Our approach to teaching

At Bury Tuition Centre, we believe that real progress comes from clear, structured teaching rather than simply completing tasks. Every lesson is carefully planned and aligned with the National Curriculum and exam board requirements, ensuring students are supported both in school and in their exams.
We combine the benefits of small group learning with a personalised approach, giving each student focused support tailored to their individual needs. This allows us to provide the feel of one-to-one tuition within a supportive group environment, where students can build confidence, strengthen their understanding and learn effectively alongside others.
With close guidance from experienced teachers, every student receives the attention they need to make meaningful and lasting progress.
